Find small town charm and hospitality in Didsbury, Alberta, located about halfway between Calgary and Red Deer. Named after the town of Didsbury in Manchester, England,
this central Alberta town is home to several historical structures,
modern buildings, boutique shopping, restaurants and many leisure and
recreational opportunities. The mixing of the old and the new, history
and progress, makes Didsbury an interesting and attractive town to
visit. As with many other towns in the area, the arrival of the
Canadian Pacific Railway in the late 1800s is what pushed Didsbury
forward, but no matter how much they developed and advanced, the town
has never lost its close-knit culture and family values. Visitors here
are also attracted to the town's popular annual events such as the Didsbury Fair and FCA Rodeo held at the Didsbury Exhibition Grounds,
which is home to many other events and also features a camping area.
Golf enthusiasts visiting the region will enjoy playing a round at the Didsbury Golf Course, while history buffs can spend an afternoon exploring the Didsbury and District Museum.
