Welcome to Penhold, AB!
Offering warm and welcoming hospitality, Penhold is a vibrant, family-friendly town that is conveniently located on Highway 2A between
Red Deer and
Innisfail in
Alberta's Heartland.
Due to its great location, Penhold has the advantage of retaining all
the charm that comes with living in a small town without lacking the
amenities of a large city, which makes it an ideal place to raise a
family. Before becoming a village in 1904, Penhold was one of the
whistle stops along the Canadian Pacific Railway. The village later
became a town in 1981 due to a growing population in the late 1970s.
Plenty of recreational opportunities are available in Penhold, as well
as in the nearby area. The town is close to the
Red Deer River,
Pine Lake and
Sylvan Lake, all offering year-round fun. Another nearby attraction is
The Jungle Farm, which has been in the Innisfail area since 1897 and offers farm tours and a seasonal
General Store.
