The Ukrainian heritage of many of Vegreville's residents is represented by the 7 m (23 ft) pysanka (Easter egg) in Elks Kinsmen Community Park on the east end of town. Vegreville and District Museum houses early artifacts, photos and the International Police Museum, a collection of badges and memorabilia from police forces around the world. May 16 to Sept 7, Sun to Fri 1 - 5 p m; by donation. Half mile east of town at Hwy 16A bridge, 632-7650.
